The mayor of a nearby town is joining the race for Lieutenant Governor.
33-year-old Chris Frye of New Castle filed paperwork earlier this week to join the Republican primary for the number two job in Pennsylvania.
Frye became the first black mayor in New Castle history when he was elected in 2019. He was also the youngest ever elected to the seat.
He joins three others in the race. The lieutenant governor is elected separately from the governor, although there is pending legislation where that could change.
