One charge has been withdrawn against a Butler woman following a fatal crash earlier this year.
The Butler County District Attorney’s office agreed to drop the homicide by vehicle charge against 28-year-old Susan Ekstrand of Butler. She was involved in that fatal bicycle vs. vehicle accident that killed Dr. Henry Sinapoli back in September on North Washington St.
District Attorney Rich Goldinger told our newsroom that “we reviewed our charging decision and decided that the Homicide by Vehicle and the Involuntary Manslaughter charges were duplicative and that we didn’t need both charges.”
He added that his office feels it can prove the involuntary manslaughter charge and is moving forward with on that charge only.
