Pennsylvania’s Acting Secretary of Health is resigning.
Governor Tom Wolf announced Monday morning that Alison Beam will leave at the end of the year.
She was nominated to the post in January of this year, after former health secretary Dr. Rachel Levine left to become Deputy U.S. Secretary of Health.
Wolf said Beam played a major role in coordinating the state’s pandemic response and rollout of other health initiatives.
Wolf has also named Department of Health Executive Secretary Keara Klinepeter to lead the DOH starting next year.
