The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Detroit Tigers 6-3 Monday at PNC Park, snapping a six-game losing streak. Ke’Bryan Hayes had a three-hit day, driving in two runs and scoring twice. Kevin Newman added a two-run home run. Pirates starting pitcher Bryse Wilson allowed three runs over six innings. David Bednar struck out the side in the ninth inning to earn his third career save.
The Pirates host the Tigers again tonight at 6:35pm. WISR pre-game begins at 6:10pm.
The Bucs did not win a game in Chicago last week, falling twice to the White Sox and they were swept in four games by the Cubs.
