Authorities say a tractor trailer was traveling northbound about 1 a.m. when the driver veered off I-79 and crashed into part of the concrete support structure for the overpass.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
One northbound lane of Interstate 79 was shut down for several hours in Franklin Park, Allegheny County.
