Students in the Butler Area School District can expect to spend more time on the bus at the beginning of the year.
Superintendent Dr. Brian White said transportation cards will soon be sent out to families, and they may notice bus routes are longer than usual.
He says the bus driver shortage forced the district to fill buses at, or near capacity for the upcoming year. That means that bus rides will take more time than they have in the past.
The district also noted that students must wear masks on buses per federal law.
