The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Chicago Cubs 8-4 Wednesday at PNC Park. Jon Jaso hit for the cycle in the game, the first Pirate to do so since Daryle Ward in 2004. He drove in five runs. The Pirates pounded Cubs starter Jake Arrieta for seven earned runs over five innings, gathering 10 hits off the reigning Cy Young Award winner. Jameson Taillon won the game for the Pirates, allowing just one hit, a first inning home run to Anthony Rizzo, over his six innings of work. The win snapped a four-game losing streak.
The Bucs and Cubs wrap up their series tonight at 7:05pm. It is the Pirates final home game of the season.
Pre-game on WISR 680am is 6:40pm. Ivan Nova (5-2, 3.49 ERA) will start for the Bucs.
