A couple with local ties is making national headlines Wednesday for their engagement, which didn’t exactly go as planned.
29-year-old Andrew Fox from New Castle had everything he needed to make one of life’s biggest decisions last night- the engagement ring, the perfect woman and a beautiful evening at Yankee Stadium.
But when a camera focused in on Andrew proposing to his girlfriend Heather Terwilliger during the fifth inning, he dropped the ring.
The drop- which was caught on the center field video board- caused the crowd to gasp and then sent nearby fans scrambling to find the jewelry.
The entire drama playing out on live TV between pitches.
For five tense minutes, no one could find the ring…and Fox even began to tear up.
Finally, Heather, who is from New York, looked down and saw the shiny ring in the cuff of her jeans.
She said yes and the rest is history.
