State Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine says “so far, so good” when it comes to distributing the vaccine.
“Things are moving smoothly in Pennsylvania,” Levine said. “Vaccine distribution has not been delayed because of the snow so far. And hospitals are working as quickly as possible to administer the vaccine.”
And also Friday, the Moderna vaccine could be approved for emergency use by the FDA. Dr. Levine on how that will impact Pennsylvania.
“We anticipate that we’ll be getting doses of Moderna, depending on what the FDA does over the next day or two. But, let’s assume it receives its [emergency use authorization], then we absolutely anticipate distribution and transportation of the Moderna vaccine.”
The state received nearly 100,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine and has been distributing it across the Commonwealth over the past week.
