Pennsylvania lawmakers are considering a bill that would require high school students to take a citizenship test before they could graduate.
Students would be allowed to take the civics test as many times as necessary to pass. The exam would be the same one that immigrants who wish to become a United States citizen must pass.
Some lawmakers say without knowing how our government works or its history, students don’t have the building blocks to respect the democratic process.
