The Pittsburgh Steelers were hammered by the Philadelphia Eagles 34-3 Sunday. The Steelers were held to 29 yards rushing and just 251 total yards. The Steelers were torched by rookie quarterback Carson Wentz, who threw for 301 yards and two touchdowns. The Eagles sacked Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger four times. The Steelers are now 2-1 and host Kansas City Sunday night. They will see the return of running back Le’Veon Bell from suspension.
The Slippery Rock University football team improved to 4-0 with a 34-13 victory over Gannon Saturday night. The win extends the Rock’s home winning streak to 19 games, longest active streak in the nation. Quarterback Don King, III completed 34 passes, second-most in program history. King has now thrown for 781 yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions over the past two weeks. The Rock visit 3-0 California this Saturday.
Penn State fell to Michigan Saturday 49-10.
Pitt lost to North Carolina 37-36.
LSU fired head coach Les Miles after their 18-13 loss to Auburn Saturday. He had been there 12 years.
