A fatal stabbing incident early Sunday morning in downtown Butler remains under investigation by City Police.
Officers responded at 2 a.m. to a report of an injured person at 138 West Jefferson Street, and discovered 43-year old Robert Wagner of that address with a severe stab wound to the chest.
Wagner was given initial treatment at the scene by personnel from Butler Ambulance Service and the City fire department, then rushed to Butler Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police Chief Bob O’Neill said Sunday afternoon that no arrests had been made “as of now,” indicating that more information may become available later today.
