The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler will contract with a local company to provide engineering services for street reconstruction planned for later this year.
The authority’s board approved the proposal from Gateway Engineers at an amount not to exceed $13,500. Gateway’s was the lowest of three bids received.
The streets to be improved include Slagle Avenue from Hickory Street to Maple, Glenn Avenue from Center Avenue to Fairview, and Standard Avenue from Center Avenue to Brown Avenue. This project also includes several curb ramp replacements.
Gateway will now research to create bid specifications for the project which could begin sometime this fall. The money to pay for the engineering services as well as the actual reconstruction will come from the 2019 Community Development Block Grant.
