Over 100 Butler County businesses have been granted exemptions so far to Governor Wolf’s mandated closure in March.
According to the Department of Community and Economic Development, nearly 43,000 exemptions were requested statewide and a total of 6,066 of those requests were approved for exemptions.
Among the 107 Butler County businesses approved for an exemption include Penn United Technologies, Ibis Tek, Cloud Nine Vapor, Flowers By Gerard, JM Beatty Furniture, Pool City, and Red Wing Shoe Store.
Many of the businesses approved for an exemption were permitted to operate in a reduced capacity and limited to specific activities referenced in their request. Other businesses became designated essential by making products required by the health care industry.
