The death toll due to COVID-19 in Pennsylvania is now over 3,000, according to the state’s department of health.
Officials say the over 500 newly reported deaths are a result of data accumulation over the past two weeks.
Meanwhile here in Butler County, four new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Tuesday’s update. That’s the first batch of new cases since Friday afternoon, bringing the county’s total to 184.
There was some positive news as Pennsylvania again saw consecutive days with under 1,000 new cases. Statewide there are now just over 50,900 confirmed cases and nearly 200,000 negative tests.
Butler Memorial Hospital is treating eight patients for COVID-19 symptoms, with one person in the ICU.
