Pennsylvania has secured a large amount of funding from the federal government to continue providing care and necessary services for older residents.
According to the PA Department of Aging, the state has secured a total of $34 million through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security, or CARES Act.
Over $20 million will go towards home-delivered meals for older adults. Nearly $9 million will be dedicated to helping older adults remain at home with minimal exposure to COVID-19. Finally, over $4 million will be used by the Family Caregiver Support Program to help family and other informal caregivers assist loved ones at home.
