The City of Butler Parks, Recreation Grounds, and Facilities Authority is getting help from a local lender in dealing with the effects of the coronavirus even as they look ahead to baseball later this year.
According to Authority President Cheri Readie, NexTier Bank has granted the Authority a three month grace period from paying their monthly mortgage on Michelle Krill Field at Historic Pullman Park.
The Authority gets their revenue from sponsorship, field rental, concessions, admissions, and private room rentals. Unfortunately, three tournaments have been canceled so far as well as a total of over 109 college and high school games and at least 13 suite rentals. The Authority still has utilities, insurance, and other bills that need to be paid so the adjustment of the mortgage payment is a big help.
Readie also said that the Butler BlueSox season is still on track to begin Friday, May 29th along with roughly 10 tournaments still scheduled.
