The new daily update from state health officials show another jump in confirmed cases of COVID-19 across Pennsylvania.
Locally, Butler County saw 11 new cases of COVID-19 reported, giving the county a total of 60 confirmed cases.
The Butler Health System has also seen an increase in the number of patients they’re treating for coronavirus symptoms.
According to officials, there are now 15 patients being treated at Butler Memorial Hospital—six of whom are in the intensive care unit. Officials also say that six of those patients have confirmed cases of COVID-19, and nine are suspected to have the virus.
Clarion Hospital meanwhile is treating six patients, including three that are in ICU—five of those cases are suspected and one is confirmed with the coronavirus.
BHS says they have comprehensive plans in place to increase emergency and critical care bed capacity.
The state as a whole added 756 confirmed cases, bringing the total number of cases to 4,843. Nearly a quarter of the cases are in Philadelphia County.
The state has 63 reported deaths as a result of complications due to the coronavirus, including two people in Butler County.
