Slippery Rock University is celebrating a birthday today.
It’s known as Founders Day at The Rock. It honors the first day classes that happened back on March 26th, 1889 at what was then the Slippery Rock State Normal School.
There were 168 students enrolled for that first semester—including 94 women.
And the tuition price was just a little different—it cost $14 per term.
