The Butler Area School District is moving forward with a couple of capital improvement projects to be done over the summer.
During their Monday night meeting, the school board approved a contract with Triangle Roofing to put a new roof on the Emily Brittain Community and Partnership School at a cost of nearly $750,000.
The board also approved an agreement with Shields Asphalt Paving to pave the Intermediate and Senior High School Parking lots at a cost of just over $760,000.
A total of four bids were received for each project with the money to pay for them coming from the district’s capital projects bond issue in early 2018. Both deals are subject to solicitor review.
Design work is also continuing to take place on a project that would switch the location of the Senior High main office with the Senior High library in order to improve security with that project also expected to be put out to bid in the near future.
