A disaster emergency has been declared in Butler County.
The Butler County Commissioners made the announcement at a press conference shortly before noon Wednesday at the Butler County Courthouse.
This declaration authorizes the county’s emergency response team in coordination with state and federal agencies to take whatever action necessary to reduce the spread of coronavirus.
All those entering the County Government Center will now undergo a health screening by Butler County Sherriff’s Department employees. Additional specific information can be found on Butler County’s website.
A total of about 60 test kits have been collected in Butler County and sent for testing but those results will not be received for another 3 or 4 days so as of now, no confirmed cases of coronavirus exist in Butler County.
Additional update to this story will be made as they become available.
