A new effort by the state game commission targeting poachers is being hailed as a success.
At a meeting Monday, the Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners was given information about ‘Operation Game Thief’ which started almost a year ago.
Since that time, nearly 1,500 tips have been reported, which officials say is a huge increase from the year before. This program is designed for rapid response with information dispatched to officers in most cases within five minutes.
