A Center Township man could be facing homicide charges following the death of a man in the City of Butler.
The incident began as a home invasion Friday night in the 300 block of East Penn Street.
According to a criminal compliant filed by Butler City Police, 46-year-old Richard Paskosky kicked in the front door of the home and began fighting the two people inside- Mark Cunning and Nicholas Donaldson. At some point during the struggle, Paskosky allegedly punched Cunning in the head, causing him to fall to the floor. Donaldson was also shoved to the floor during the struggle.
57-year-old Cunning was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later.
Paskosky was arrested and is now facing several charges including aggravated assault and burglary.
A motive is unclear but police believe Donaldson and Paskosky knew each other. According to the complaint, Donaldson told police he received a phone call Friday night from Paskosky stating he was coming over to his residence to fight him and ‘put him in the hospital.’
