An Adams Township man is facing additional charges after allegedly allowing vehicles at his repair shop to be driven by people other than the owners.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the Adams Township Police Department, a man dropped his daughter’s car off for an air-conditioner charge at the end of July at the Lube Pro on Route 228 owned by 59-year-old Keith “Smitty” Smith.
When they picked the car up a little over a week later, it had about 850 additional miles on it as well as over $3,000 worth of damage in scratches. The non-smoking customer also discovered the interior smelled of smoke and there were fortune cookies in the glovebox.
According to the Adams Township officer filing the report, Smith has a history of incidents similar to this and he will be charged with criminal mischief as well as unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
State Police issued a report last month alleging that Smith has operated an unlicensed car dealership out of that Lube Pro.
