State lawmakers are trying to spread the word about Pennsylvania’s so-called “second chance law,” which will take effect in November.
The law will allow people with a nonviolent misdemeanor conviction to have their record sealed after seven to 10 years, if they have served their sentence and have not re-offended.
Dauphin County Representative Patty Kim said the law passed with an overwhelming majority.
The law does not apply to ex-felons, but there is still hope for them through the Board of Pardons.
