The Pennsylvania Game Commission wants to remind hunters that they will be charged if they hunt in an area that has been baited.
With very few exceptions, the use of bait for hunting purposes is illegal in the state and all bait must be removed from hunting areas at least 30 days before hunting begins.
The number of people charged with hunting in areas with bait has increased by almost 20 percent in the past two years.
Violators can be fined up to $300. For more information or to ask questions about what is considered baiting, email [email protected] or call 717-787-4250.
