Holiday weekend travelers will notice an increased police presence on the roads this weekend.
State police will be conducting sobriety checkpoints throughout Butler County and the surrounding areas through Monday to ensure safe driving.
Patrol officers will have a zero tolerance approach to driving while intoxicated and checkpoints will be conducted on roads that have been problematic with crashes in the past.
To ensure safety for everyone, drivers are also reminded of Pennsylvania’s Steer Clear Law, which requires motorists to move over when law enforcement, towing companies, or disabled motorists are off the side of the road.
