The Butler County District Attorney’s Office hopes to receive a $25,000 grant from PennDOT to help combat drunken driving.
The DA’s office will apply for the 2017 DUI Grant, which, if granted, would be used to conduct checkpoints and roving DUI patrols throughout the county.
Officials say they try to conduct at least one DUI checkpoint a year during a holiday weekend.
