Butler County Community College is celebrating the official opening of their renovated library Tuesday.
The John A. Beck library on the school’s main campus went through a $5 million renovation over the past year and has since been renamed the Heaton Family Learning Commons.
State funding and a $1 million donation from longtime Butler resident Robert Heaton contributed to the project. Heaton’s donation was the largest gift ever received in BC3’s 50-year history.
BC3 President Dr. Nick Neaupaur said the commons will serve as the hub of campus. It includes study areas, a café and access to computers and databases.
