High School Golf:
Butler boys defeated Slippery Rock 212-276. Nic Leone led Butler with a 38 at Oakview. Nick Huff and Drew Kukla shot 42’s. Kyle Stephenson led Slippery Rock with a 49. Butler will face Shaler today.
The Moniteau boys golfers took their second Mega Match in the Keystone Shortway Conference Tuesday edging Karns City 240-242 at Cross Creek Resort. Karns City’s Hunter Gifford led all golfers with a 42. Weston Kimmey of Moniteau had a 43. AC-Valley/Union finished seventh.
Moniteau won the first Mega Match last Friday at Foxburg Country Club with Weston Kimmey leading all golfers with a 40. Moniteau’s Cortney Claypoole shot a 41 for the runner-up spot. Kolby Montgomery from AC Valley, Hunter Gifford and Matt Wolfe, both of Karns City were third with 42’s.
Girls Tennis:
Butler Girls Varsity Tennis beat Armstrong 4-1 Tuesday.
#1 singles Sydney Hanratty (B) lost a close match to Ashleigh Bowser (A) 5-7, 7-5, 6-3
#2 singles Jenna Kuntz (B) beat Lauren Virastck (A) 6-4,7-6 (7-3)
#3 singles Lexi Chappel (B) beat Eva Crawford (A) 7-5 7-6 (7-4)
#1 doubles Jill Ford & Ali Hinch (B) beat Sylvia Hamilton & Brooklyn Graham 6-4, 6-1
#2 doubles Andi Malacaman & Caroline Simms (B) beat Paige Johns & Trista Bowser 6-2, 6-0
