A seminar focusing on suicide prevention and intervention is scheduled for Tuesday in Mars.
Psychologists, social workers, and nurses will be attending this event hosted by Value Behavioral Health of PA from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel.
Speakers include Dr. Steve Bentsen with an overview of the suicide crisis and Dr. Ralph May about evidence based suicide prevention intervention. This seminar will also include various county suicide task force groups and a panel of family and suicide survivors sharing personal stories.
The number of yearly deaths by suicide in Pennsylvania more than doubled between 2010 and 2014.
