Kevin Harvick won the rain-delayed Nascar Sprint Cup race at Bristol Sunday afternoon. He led the final 71 laps for his second victory of the season. Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. finished second. Denny Hamlin, Austin Dillon and Chris Buescher round out the top five. Buescher moved into the top 30 overall in the point standings with three races remaining prior to the “Chase” playoffs. He must remain in the top 30 after winning a race at Pocono earlier this month. The race was to be run under the lights Saturday night, but was postponed due to rain to Sunday.
The IRL race at Pocono Raceway was rained out Sunday, and will be run today.
Brittany Force won her third NHRA Top Fuel event of the season at the Lucas Oil Nationals Sunday in Minnesota. Force topped Antron Brown for the victory. Del Worsham won the Funny Car, Drew Skillman too the Pro Stock event and Andrew Hines the Pro Stock Motorcycle.
Lernerville racing was rained out Friday. The weather allowed three drivers to clinch 2016 track championships heading into the final week of racing for th season. Russ King has won the Late Model championship. Mat Williamson takes the Modifieds and Corey McPherson wins the Sportsman Division.
