A man from Connecticut was cited by police following a one vehicle accident in Clarion County.
According to the police report, Giles Hennessy, of Ansonia CT, struck a guide rail while traveling on I-80 in Richland Twp. Wednesday August 17, 2016. He continued on I-80 for approximately two miles before getting off an exit. Hennessy then called 911 and reported that his vehicle had been sideswiped and that the driver fled the scene. Upon further investigation it was discovered that Hennessy provided a false statement to 911 and the State Police concerning the hit and run.
He was cited for filing false reports and a traffic violation.
