Police are warning of yet another scam…and this one seems to be circulating the Grove City area.
Grove City Police say actors are calling customers pretending to be from their power company and claiming that their electric account is delinquent and they need to make immediate payment or their service will be shut off. In some cases, people have been told to pay with pre-paid debit cards.
Police again remind residents to never send checks, money orders or other forms of payment as a result of a threatening phone call. Most companies do not attempt to collect by phone.
Call police if you believe you have received a call from a scammer.
