The Butler County commissioners would like to hire the county’s first-ever chief of economic development and planning.
The new employee would report directly to the board of commissioners and serve as a centralized point of entry for those seeking economic development services in Butler County.
In a statement, the commissioners said community leaders and organizations hired a consultant twice in the last 10 years to develop a unified plan for economic development in Butler County but the information was then never used going forward.
Butler County’s longtime Planning Director retired earlier this year and this new position would essentially replace that one.
