This weekend there will be an event at the Grove City airport…and yes, there is an airport at Grove City.
The Annual Community Day event will be on Saturday, August 20, 2016 between 11am-3pm. The airport is almost across the street from the Grove City Outlets.
Jim Gaiter, president of the local chapter of the international organization the Experimental Aviation Association, spoke with our radio station about the event.
He says many people don’t even know the airport is there and the event is to help with public awareness. It’s also to get the word out about the organization.
Who is the Experimental Aviation Association? According to Gaiter, it’s an association of pilots, even though it’s not required that you are a pilot to join. Members build home-made airplanes, rebuild airplanes, and offer a variety of programs.
Admission is free and you can drive or fly into the event. It’s open to the public and you don’t’ have to be a pilot or airplane owner to enjoy the day.
