The new company handing food service at Butler Area School District this year is preparing for changes in the way local students eat.
The Nutrition Group made a presentation to the Butler School Board Monday night about their progress in rolling out the new program.
Staff training will take place with employees working in different districts on Tuesday at Freeport Middle School. Nutrition Group administrators said that all former food service employees with the district who wanted jobs were given the chance to continue. In addition, eight new employees were hired.
Equipment has been ordered for the elementary schools and those facilities will be transitioned to the new menus gradually and with careful planning. The Nutrition Group will be present at all upcoming summer orientation and back-to-school nights within the district.
