The Butler Township commissioners have awarded a local organization with a contract to provide janitorial services to their municipal building.
At a meeting Monday night, the commissioners voted to accept a bid given by The ARC of Butler County for cleaning services beginning in September and running through December of 2017. The total cost to the township for this service would be $20,700.
Three bids for the job were received but the one from The ARC was the only one to meet all the specified requirements, according to officials. Three workers and three supervisors will begin cleaning around 2:30 p.m. every weekday.
The janitor position opened when 77-year-old John Day retired last month.
