The Pittsburgh Pirates lost to the Atlanta Braves 5-2 last night as the Braves took two of three games in the series. The Pirates have now lost 5 of 6 games to two of the worst teams in the National League. Ryan Vogelsong made his first start since being hit in the face with a pitch. He allowed just a run on three hits over six innings. Vogelson walked one and struck out six. The Pirates bullpen allowed four runs over the seventh and eighth innings which decided the game. Felipe Rivero took the loss.
Josh Harrison returned to the line-up last night. Francisco Cervelli was used as a pinch hitter, and will avoid the disabled list after being struck in the head with a pitch Tuesday. Andrew McCutchen did not see an at-bat in the series.
The Bucs are back home to host the Cincinnati Reds tonight at PNC Park. First pitch is 7:05pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am is 6:40pm. Jameson Taillon starts for the Pirates.
