A new administrator will be helping out at Summit Township Elementary School as the current principal is absent from school.
A message from the Butler Area School District to parents and guardians of Summit students said that Principal Lesley Fidler will be absent “longer than anticipated”. No further details about the reason for her absence were provided.
As a result, Paul Chmara has been hired as a substitute principal on an “as needed basis”. Chmara is a retired principal and lives in Butler County. Northwest Elementary Principal Matt Martinez will also be offering support as needed.
Fidler was hired by the Butler Area School District in July of 2018 after spending time in the South Butler and Mars Area School Districts.
