A local church is giving back to Butler with a volunteer event Wednesday downtown.
The Church of the Nazarene is bringing about 80 volunteers into the city Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The group will be painting curbs yellow along Main Street, cleaning sidewalks and streets, and passing out bottled water at no cost to the city.
The group will be permitted to park their buses and trucks in the loading zone next to Worsleys. West New Castle Street will be closed beginning Wednesday morning so that the church can put up some tents. The group will use restrooms in the fire station.
