Butler County families are invited to a free movie Monday night at Alameda Park.
The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department will show the movie “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” beginning at 8:30 p.m. at the Masonic Shelter.
Free popcorn will also be provided.
Tonight’s movie will be shown regardless of the weather. For more information, call 724-284-5383.
There are several other activities planned for this week inside Alameda Park.
The Free Family Summer Concert Series continues Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. with the rock and roll band Muddy Creek at the Odd Fellows Gazebo.
The Alameda Waterpark School Daze special continues Wednesday with 50 percent off for anyone with a South Butler or Freeport School District ID or clothing. Also on Wednesday, kids are welcome to join a Bug Safari at 7:30 p.m. at Shelter number two. Cost is $3 per child and participants should bring a large mouth jar.
TOn Thursday, the Free Outdoor Discovery Series continues at 6:30 p.m. in the Carousel Shelter with a presentation about bats.
Alameda Story Adventures is a free, weekly storytelling activity for kids ages six and younger. This event will take place every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to noon at the Rotary Shelter. No registration required.
Finally, a Superhero and Princess Party is scheduled for Saturday at the Waterpark from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Those attending can enjoy a snow cone while watching Frozen on the big screen. Cost is $5 per person.
