Jeff Locke lasted just three innings in a Pirates 9-5 loss to Milwaukee last night in front of a sell-out crowd at PNC Park. Locke allowed five earned runs on seven hits during the outing. He walked five and struck out five. His ERA of 5.54 is third-worst among National League starting pitchers, and he has an ERA of more than eight over his last seven starts. Starling Marte, David Freese and Jordy Mercer had two hits each for the Bucs during the game. The loss pushed the Pirates nine games behind in the National League Central.
Francisco Liriano will start for the Pirates tonight to wrap up the series. First pitch is 7:05pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am is 6:30pm. The Bucs will welcome the Philadelphia Phillies this weekend.
