Police say a woman with five prior DUIs was drunk Thursday when she crashed into an Oakland Township beer distributor.
Lynly Broge, 53, of Butler was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after she crashed her Chrysler Sebring into the side of O’Donnell’s Beer Distributor on Route 68.
Police say Broge was traveling westbound about 7:30 p.m. when her vehicle crossed the center line, traveled into the parking lot at O’Donnells, struck a block wall and then plowed into the distributor.
Trooper Chad Savannah said the entire front end of the vehicle was through the building’s wall, according to a police criminal complaint.
When police arrived, they found Broge out of the car and allegedly having trouble standing. She then allegedly admitted to police she drank eight beers throughout the day and was on medications, including muscle relaxers and for depression.
According to court documents, Broge has been arrested for DUI five times in the last 10 years. Her last arrest was on July 5 of this year. Following that arrest, she was ordered to wear an alcohol-monitoring bracelet but police say she removed it prior to Thursday’s crash.
