A local non-profit organization has received recognition from the Butler County Chamber of Commerce.
The Maridon Museum, known for its collection of Chinese and Japanese art and culture, was presented with the 2016 Community Champion Award for its impact on the Butler community.
The award was presented Wednesday during a luncheon at Diamond Square in Butler.
The museum was put into place by the late Mary Hulton Phillips, who loved to collect Asian art. The Maridon Museum is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offers private tours.
