The Wolf Administration and the Pennsylvania Coal Alliance are launching a new safety campaign aimed at protecting miners in the Keystone State.
The “Safety First, No Shortcuts” campaign and video was created to simply remind miners of common safety practices before they start their shift.
Patrick McDonnell, Acting Secretary of the PA Department of Environmental Protection, says four coal miners died on the job in the last year and a half as a result of taking safety shortcuts.
Pennsylvania is home to over 7,000 miners.
