New Castle Police are investigating a violent home invasion.
Officers were called to a house on West Friendship Street on the city’s south side about 5:30 p.m. Monday.
Two men reportedly forced themselves into the home and demanded money from a man inside, before assaulting him. One of the men reportedly had a gun.
The men were seen leaving the area in a white Chevy pickup truck.
The victim, who is reportedly a man in his 70s, was checked by medics at the scene.
