Ellsworth G. Johnson, age 102, of Cabot, Pennsylvania, formerly of Chicora Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016 at 8:20 pm at the Concordia Lutheran Ministries.
He was born May 21, 1914 in Forestville, Pennsylvania to the late Lawrence Johnson and Bertha (Stang) Johnson.
Mr. Johnson drove school bus and worked for Hull’s Resurfacing. He and his late first wife were the owners of Johnson’s Soft Serve Ice Cream on Chicora Road. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by one sister, Garnet A. Hoon of Concordia Lutheran Ministries; one cousin, Don Kelly and his wife Diane of Grove City, PA; a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Evelyn C. (Heitzer) Johnson who passed away on January 9, 1993 and also by his second wife, Helen (Weisenstein) Brown Johnson, who passed away April 14, 2003; two brothers, Ralph and Laverne Johnson.
Friends will be received Thursday, July 7, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016, at 11:00 am at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, PA, with the Reverend Jack Hartman, Chaplin of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, officiating.
Interment will take place in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
