The process to change the zoning of the property formerly known as Deshon Woods is moving ahead.
Butler Township Zoning Officer Jesse Hines has received an application requesting that the land on Evans City Road be changed from Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-1).
An ordinance will need to be introduced by the Township Commissioners in August before the request moves to the township Planning Commission in September. The proposal will then likely return to the Township Commissioners for a public hearing later in September.
It is up to the discretion of the commissioners to grant the request for the nearly 21 acre property which was purchased for $1.2 million in March.
