The number of Americans planning to set off backyard fireworks means the likely hood of injuries again this year.
The National Council on Fireworks Safety says it expects the numbers of people doing so will be at an all-time high. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said last year 11 people died and thousands sustained injuries from firework-related injuries.
The fireworks that people get hurt with the most, seems to be firecrackers and sparklers. Sparklers can burn at about 2,000 degrees.
The highest risk group of injuries with fireworks is kids between 5-9 years old followed by teens 5-19 years old.
